Greetings and Good Morning Everyone!,
I hope all is will this glorious Monday morning. It's chilly and the snow covered ground looks like, Dean Martin's "marshmallow world, it's time for play, it's a whipped cream day, I wait for it the whole year round." I'm still on cloud nine and descending from my excitement, of having a successful romance writing event. I hope that you've had a wonderful weekend as well. This morning, I want to share with you the importance of "following through"! Failure is not an option and neither is quitting! So,
Let's dive right in!
"am I making the right decision by continuing to have this event?""hell yes, now pull yourself together and go have a bomb event!" This weekend, I had the sincere pleasure of holding my first romance writing event, "M.A.I. Write to Romance", hosted by the fabulous ShimmySista in Columbia, MD. I was so excited, and the weather forecast for this weekend showed snow! Needless to say, this news threatened to damper my mood. Plus, I was tired from working nonstop, on making sure that this event is a success. Anyone else, may have called the whole thing off with cancellations from guests, and the gloominess of the impeding snow approaching. However, I didn't want to give up! I'd planned a beautiful and fun event, and I was determined to follow through on my goal! I mean, this was my first event of 2019, and there was no way that I was going to call this event off! On Saturday, I had a few moments alone where, I thought to myself, So, I "threw all caution to the wind" and "went hard in the paint" to follow through and finish strong! I think that I was able to do that, and it was all about my mindset. I didn't get discouraged. I didn't let those minor setbacks bring me down, and didn't let it get in my head and take over my energy. I completed this event as if it were "packed house", even though it wasn't. With a positive mindset, anything is possible and all goals can be accomplished and reached. , I shed a couple of tears, and then I heard the little voice in my head say,
So as you begin to tackle your goals this year, think about your mindset. If there is something that you're working on, and it didn't quite turn out exactly the way that you expected, that's ok. It's how you handle the disappointment that counts. It's how you maintain a positive mindset in the midst of the "set back". This was only minor "set back" that will prepare me for my "come back", and the same is true for you! There will be other opportunities in the future, and I'm just delighted that it came through. It will be the same for you too! So let's keep going strong in 2019!
As I close, keep going strong this year and don't let the minor set backs get you down. Start strong and finish stronger! Have a wonderful day!
